WHAT CAN I DO?
Every one of us can do something to support an asylum seeker or take action on this issue.
There are currently over 1000 people here in detention, including many families, children and unaccompanied minors.
A new 1500 bed detention centre has been built at at Wickham Point and is now operating - Darwin is being called the 'detention capital' of Australia.
Visiting
Individuals can visit people in detention. We have many people in detention who have requested a visitor from the community. We provide some training and support for people who wish to visit.

Writing letters
Write to ‘Dear friend’ and include some blank paper and a stamped self-addressed envelope. Send it to DASSAN, PO Box 1146 Nightcliff NT 0814. For ideas on letter writing contact dassan2011@gmail.com Click here for suggestions for letter writing
